Meet the Photographer
Alexander C. Hicks, Jr. will be joining Hollywild Animal Park during summer and fall Photography Days to provide a workshop for participants. He will present tips for “Taking Your Best Shot during a 30 minute workshop offered to participants prior to their visits to special photo stations set up in the park.
Hicks began his career in photojournalism in the U.S. Navy. Entering the service as a photographer, Hicks earned a Navy scholarship to earn his degree in photojournalism at Syracuse University. Upon completion of his studies, Hicks traveled the globe, continuing to serve as a photojournalist for the Navy for an additional 21 years at which time he retired from active duty. Hicks makes his home in Roebuck, SC where he works as a local news photographer. He also teaches photography at a local community college as an adjunct professor.
